12 -14 December 2007: The Tehelka Foundation celebrated its annual Flagship event, a youth festival called “The Young Visionary 2007: Stakeholders in Sustainability”, at the National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi. More than 1500 young students from different parts of India came together to ideate and share their thoughts on sustainable development.
A two day intensive iPartner Citizenship workshop was held within the precincts of the Jaipur Literature Festival, 24 - 25 January 2008.
Students from private schools, Step by Step and the Neeraja Modi School, interacted with young people from two NGOs, Digantar and Doosra Dashak, in an attempt to understand one another's ground realities and bridge the gap between Bharat & India.
Part of the learning from "The Summit
of the Powerless" has been recognition of the vital
need to bridge the gap between Urban and Rural India,
especially as far as our youth is concerned.
A three day youth convention at Bluebells School International on 28 - 30 January 2008, brought together students from 13 different schools, to share their ideas on the theme "Learning to Live Together". The Foundation coordinated sessions on Communalism, Environment and the Right to Information Act, over these three days.
An Action Plan presented by each school at the end of the Convention, will be followed up by the Tehelka Foundation.
